Canterbury
As in the previous years, our community organised a pilgrimage to Canterbury, this time in honour of all the ancient Orthodox saints of the city, especially the early Archbishops. We visited the Cathedral and located the sites of the former shrines of Saints Dunstan and Alphege. At the ruins of the ancient Monastery of St Augustine, Edmund Dunstall gave us a fascinating talk on the saints who had been buried there and we ended the day with a moving moleben in their honour. The participants each received an icon card of a very beautiful and recently painted icon of St Dunstan of Canterbury. We hope to make our Canterbury pilgrimage an annual event, each year highlighting different aspects of our wonderful Orthodox past.
